About the author

I am K.D.Y., your local friend in Sindang.

I was born in 1985, I am the father of a four-year-old, and I have lived in Sindang-dong for 12 years. My workplace is nearby too, so this part of Seoul is not a weekend project for me. It is where ordinary life happens.

Why I made Sindang Seoul

A personal record that can become someone else's good memory.

Over the years, company dinners, family outings, coffee stops and market walks have taken me to many restaurants, cafes, streets and small places around Sindang and nearby neighborhoods. I built this site partly to keep those experiences from disappearing, and partly to help foreign visitors leave with a warm, useful memory of the area.

How the notes are made

Experience first, useful details second.

A review should help a visitor decide whether to go, what to expect and what might feel confusing—not merely say that a place was good.

I visit before I review.

Public reviews are based on places I actually ate at, walked through, shopped in or experienced with family, friends or colleagues.

I try to take every photo myself.

Self-shot images are the default. If an official or third-party image is genuinely necessary, the source is identified clearly beside it.

I keep the awkward parts in.

Price, waiting, difficult entrances, language friction, child-friendliness and reasons to skip a place are part of an honest recommendation.

Editorial promise

Slow growth is intentional.

Sindang Seoul will grow one real visit at a time. There is no reason to fill the site with places I have not experienced simply to make it look bigger.
